Like This

-MLB Commissioner Bed Selig has announced that he will be in attendance when Barry Bonds breaks Hank Aaron’s all-time home run record in the coming weeks. I think this is a bad decision, since it pretty much cosigns on Bonds’ achievement. Barry Bonds used illegal drugs to help himself hit more home runs. It is really that simple. I just think this whole situation sucks. I remember when I was kid, probably around 7 or 8 when I still cared about Major League Baseball, I used to think of how awesome it was going to be when someone finally broke Hank Aaron’s record. Now that the day is finally upon us, it just seems really watered down due to the whole steroid controversy. Oh well, A-Rod is gonna break Bonds’ record in the next 10 years sometime. I guess I will just have to wait for that.

-Be on the lookout for The Lovely Bones, which is Peter Jackson’s new film. It is a murder-mystery starring Ryan Gosling. If it is anything like the rest of Peter Jackson’s movies then it should be pretty good.

-Mike Jones new album The American Dream just got cancelled by his record label. Damn Mike, what happened? Looks like people are gonna start meaning it when they ask “Who?” after somebody says Mike Jones.

-Do you know what I really love about Entourage? The music on that show is always so fresh. Most of the time, a show will have “In Da Club” by 50 Cent playing in the background and think that is edgy. Last week’s episode had “You Know What It Is” by T.I. and “Stronger” by Kanye West playing in the club that the guys were at. Both of those songs are less that 2 weeks old. I don’t know if anybody else notices that kind of stuff, but I thought it was pretty damn cool.

-One more week and I will be back in the catfish capital of the world, Morgantown, Kentucky. I can’t wait.

-The PS3 had to drop it’s price by $100 this week in order to be able to compete with the Xbox 360. I hate to say it, but the PS3 still has no chance of winning this round of the console wars. Ask anyone who has played 360 and PS3. There is really no comparison. Yeah, the PS3 is a little more powerful, but the 360 has about a thousand cool, creative features that the PS3 really has no answer for. In short, 360 pwns!

-Sidebar. I would never ever under any circumstance, seriously use the word pwn. Honestly, how sad are the people’s lives who really talk like that?

Ridin'

-On Friday, the FBI gave their first detailed report on the dogfighting investigation at a house Michael Vick owns. To make a long story short, there was a dogfighting ring being run from the house. However, Mike Vick's name was not mentioned one time in the report. I think that is a pretty good sign. I absolutely hate the way all these idiot analysts and talking heads decided to convict Vick in the court of public opinion. I just want this whole thing to be over so Mike can go back to doing what he does best, which is being the most exciting player in the league. I am just waiting to kick people off when everyone try's to jump back on Vick's bandwagon once the season starts. Do your thing Mike!

-Apparently, Clay Aiken got into a catfight with a woman on an airplane after one of his concerts, which was no doubt a crunked-out affair! The article didn’t mention if there were any Claymates injured in the melee.

-Lupe Fiasco is working on a new album, titled The Cool. His last album, “Food and Liquor,” was really good. He’s a little bit deeper than most of the rappers out nowadays. If you like Kanye West and Common, then you should definitely give Lupe a shot.

-J.J. Abrams new project looks amazing. It is codenamed “Cloverfield.” You can check out the teaser for it over on Josh’s blog.

-Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days. I have just been swamped with work and schoolwork. I will do better this week . . . maybe.

-This is a video of Harmonix’ new game “Rock Band.” It will be out this fall for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. It looks amazing. In case you don’t know, Harmonix is the development team that made Guitar Hero 1 and 2. Basically, EA bought the team from Activision. However, Activision still owns the name and trademarks for the Guitar Hero series, and they have hired a brand new team to develop Guitar Hero 3. So if you really think about it, Rock Band is the true sequel to Guitar Hero 2. Guitar Hero 3 is gonna be like one of those movie sequels that doesn’t have any of the original cast in it. I think we all know how Dumb and Dumberer turned out! Anyways, just watch the video. The game looks like a blast. In Rock Band, you can play lead guitar, bass, drums, or even sing the vocals. Check it out:

On The Grind

-Sports Illustrated just did a cool feature where they named the best athlete to ever were each jersey from 00 to 99. Technically, shouldn't MJ have made the list at 23 AND 45, not to mention any other number he may have wore. You can check it out online at:
-Scientist in Germany successfully cross-bred a horse and a zebra. They are calling it a zebrula. No word yet on the liger project. Pictures are at the following link:

You Know What It Is

-Greg Oden has already signed his contract with the Trail Blazers only one week after the NBA draft. This is one of the few areas where I think the NFL could take a lesson from the NBA. In the NBA, all rookie contracts are pre-determined based on draft position. So basically, as soon as a player is drafted he knows how much money he stands to make during the first few years of his career. In the NFL, there is no such system, which is why a rookie first round draft pick is often one of the highest paid players on the team. It also leads to rookies holding out for bigger contracts and missing training camp. It’s not fair to teams to have to pay all that money for an unproven commodity. As we all know, for every Peyton Manning a team might find, there is a Ryan Leaf out there just waiting to ruin an entire franchise!

-Derek Fisher has left the NBA in order to take care of his 11-month old daughter who has cancer. For those who don’t know, Fisher was the point guard for the Lakers when they had their three-peat from 2000 to 2002. He was known for his ability to always make big plays in the clutch. This past season, he helped lead a young Utah Jazz team to the Western Conference Finals. He has always shown tons of class on and off the court and I would just like to wish him and his family the best.

-Researchers at Harvard have developed a new drug that supposedly helps people forget bad memories such as a traumatic event or a past heartache. I wonder if I could get some prescribed to me to help me forget the Atlanta Falcons 2005 and 2006 seasons!

-T.I.’s latest cd dropped today. Even if you don’t go out and buy it, at least do yourself a favor and download the song “Dopeman.” It is one of his best songs ever.

-It looks like License to Wed has gotten pretty much unanimous negative reviews from the critic. It’s a shame, because I am a big John Krasinski fan. He is terrific as Jim on The Office.

-Oh John Stamos, how far has your star fallen? This is bizarre. Watch:

-Check out my girl Sheena’s blog at http://sheenasadler.blogspot.com/ . She has some pretty strong opinions and she doesn’t hesitate to tell it like it is.
-Only 2 more weeks ‘til NCAA Football 08. I can’t wait! I am currently ranked 489 in the world on NCAA 07. You do not want to see me on that game on Xbox Live.

Sunday Morning

-No time for a full entry today. Too much school work. Here is another video of Esmee for you to enjoy. In case you can't tell, I'm a big fan.
